Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Spine. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

What Spine provides

Spine helps used bookstores record and manage individual physical copies. It is not a point-of-sale or payment service. It does not currently connect to sales systems or import a store's inventory file. Your store remains responsible for its sales, payments, stock decisions, and the accuracy of information it enters.

Accounts and store access

Provide accurate account information and protect your sign-in credentials. Store owners and managers control invitations and staff roles. Use only stores and records you are authorized to access. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your information

You keep your rights in inventory and other content you submit. You give the operator permission to store, process, display to authorized store users, back up, and transmit that content only as needed to operate and protect Spine. You are responsible for having the right to submit it and for keeping copies of records your business needs. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use Spine to break the law, access another store without permission, send abusive invitations, interfere with the service, or upload malicious material. We may restrict access when reasonably needed to protect users, data, or the service, and will explain the action when practical.

Free access and later changes

The initial public offer includes useful core inventory work for free. Permanent free-tier limits, paid plans, pricing, and treatment of existing stores have not been set. We will explain any paid-plan changes and their effect on existing stores before they take effect. We do not promise permanent free access.

Availability and responsibility

Spine is provided as available. We work to keep it reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted service or error-free data. To the extent allowed by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of Spine. Nothing here limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

Ending use and data requests

You may stop using Spine. There is currently no self-service account or whole-store deletion control or bulk inventory export. Contact us for a reviewed data request. Some records and backups may need separate handling, and we will explain the scope before acting.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms as the service develops. We will post the updated terms and date, and give reasonable notice before a material change takes effect. North Carolina law governs these terms where allowed. Disputes relating to Spine will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Wake County, North Carolina, unless applicable law requires another forum.
